Export Photobook to PDF? Reply

Does ArtsCow Designer have the option of Export Photobook to PDF?

I noticed another company that offers Export to PDF Silverlight Designer, and wondered if ArtsCow Designer has the feature. With my recent book content disappearing (and, now, some reappearing), Exporting to PDF as a backup is tempting. I use ArtsCow kits often, so... I can't simply save the books offline before uploading.

Nice idea. But May I ask on what you are trying to achieving on converting it to PDF?

    Backing up my photobooks.

I have lost several books saved here during the fire a few years ago, then some other books now have "empty" boxes from the issue a few months ago. So, I want to backup my photobooks offline... either to PDF or some other offline format.

Backups would also be useful so that we can have the digital copies of the books for decades. I doubt ArtsCow wants to store my photobooks for decades online. Offline backing up is very necessary.

There is another option. Build your photobook using external software of your choice (adobe, my memories suite, etc.) and then upload the jpeg images to artscow for printing. I have made all of my books using external software so that I can save the images on my hard drive as a back-up. I did this when I printed a deluxe book a couple months ago and it turned out great! I really love the thick deluxe pages... everyone I showed it to was impressed.

ArtsCow emphasizes all of the (often) free design kits here.

You can't use ArtsCow kits offline, so... I design books in ArtsCow for the free kits.

When I design offline, I can't use ArtsCow kits. And, it's quicker to make books within ArtsCow so there's no uploading of high quality full pages.

There's no way to back up books offline from ArtsCow, and some of my books have gone missing from ArtsCow altogether. It's not fun to use ArtsCow design kits, then have books disappear and have "no image found" appear for no reason with no explanation or resolution.

There's high-quality, free, digital scrapbooking pages/papers/embellishments all over the Internet, not just from Art's Cow. If hanging onto your work is your concern, it seems like it would make more sense to get those freebies, make the scrapbook in another program (like a previous poster suggested), upload the pages to Art's Cow and have the control to save your work independently. I'd never want to depend on another to keep my work for me. Too many things can happen in cyberspace.
