Midi skirt sizes - is the chart accurate?

Hello,
I normally fluctuate between L and XL in skirts, but on the AC size chart, I'm a 3XL?!?
Are the size charts accurate? I don't want to order something so big that I'll be swimming in it. I also don't want to order something that I'll never hope to be small enough to wear.
Anyone here have experience with charts vs. reality?

I think you should provide specific measurements because those sizes are often not really accurate
