Unable to change Font

I am in the middle of a book. I always use Comic Sans font. Today when I click on text, the pop up to write my text, will not change font. The font is on Verdana and there is no drop down list when I click on the font. This is about my 30th book so I do know how to change fonts. The font list is just not working today. I have one empty text on the next page with the comic sans font already chosen. Is there a way to replicate that text with the font I want.
