I like the way this levels the playing field for designers who don't want to give their kits away, its a great idea

    hi all,
    For this case,

So if a customer buys a 8x8 photobook no shipping, we get $0.50 for each book and the customer gets access to the kit forever? If so, I'll have to rethink this, as there are some sports kits of mine that I don't want to give away (basically) for $0.50.

If a customer use the design templates repeatedly, designers will get 10% repeatedly, and the customer will not own the design templates they used.

    Thanks.

Hi Berry ... so the customer uses the template. Now the kit (or kits) that were used in that template go into 'their kits'. Basically I just want to know if they can now use parts of those kits to make other stuff without paying for the kits.

Also, how much control would the template user have over the template? Can they still move or delete elements, and use other embellishments from the kit used in the template?

    To Lil,
The kits will not go to their "My Kits". You can create a new a/c to test it.

    To Kristen,
You can test yourself first, end users can remove or delete embellishments if they dislike, and you can still get the profits, if they still using any part of your design templates. Anyway, try to test yourself first.

    Thanks.

    Berry ...

Thanks for the reply. I feel like such a pest but I just tested it under my husbands account. I added a template that I made for a bag that used pieces from several of my kits.

#1 - All the kits went under my husbands kits. (I think that part I understand - if they use those kits for something else they will be charged for the kits)
#2 - I clicked on 'Go to cart' and it was charging for every kit on top of the price of the bag.

I thought when they used the templates they wouldnt' get charged for the kits?

    I'm so confused ... lol.

NOTE: - I realized this is what happens when they add your item from the gallery. See below ...

Ok, I think I get it now. If they add my bag from the gallery - they pay for the bag and the kits because in the gallery it's not considered a template. If they add my bag from the examples of premade bags after they go to create a bag, they just pay for the bag and the kits don't go into their kits.

This is great but how can we encourage the people to pick from the examples? ... alot of people browse the gallery and look for ideas and then say 'make a product like this'. This would be discouraging to them when they see the list of kits they would have to pay for. Should we take our templates out of the gallery?

When it says $20 instant cash for making products, how come that money isnt shown in cash account? I did the 20 memos and the-5 6x6 books and do not see any credit. Am I missing something ?

I've designed quite a few memopads (not quite 20 yet), but I'm confused as 3 or so of them were rejected as 'not suitable' and yet they were very similar to other ones that were accepted (just different colours, etc).

Can someone clarify why this might be happening? I'm loathe to post links in case the memopads that were approved might somehow become 'not suitable'.

    hi all,

Don't worry the money, we will do calculation on around 16-Sep-2010, the cash dollars will be added to all qualified a/c.

    Thanks.

yes, can we please have an answer to this Berry? It seems that the confirmation of templates is somewhat inconsistent. For instance some of my haandhags has been approed while another identical but for the background has been rejected.

I spent several hours creating a stylish but complex frameless calendar only to have it rejected - why is it not suitable please?
    http://www.artscow.com/share/Classic-Coffee-Creme-Calendar-2011-coffee-cream-creme-calendar-2011-calendar-2011-2012-nlinxq9dn4x0
The albums made with the same frameless kit and another similar calendar have all been approved so I don't understand.....
With books I have templates where the same design has been approved in 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 but rejected in 6 x 6 even though I meticulously checked all the pages and frame sizes.

It seems that different approvers are working to different and somewhat arbitrary rules

It would help if you could explain the common reasons for rejection so that we can all understand better what is needed and avoid wasting time.
