About sample photos used in the Designer Templates.

To all designers, please keep in mind, for those sample photos used in the designer templates, please do not use them as kits embellishments, you need to save those photos in "My Album", when users are using your design templates, these sample photos will be auto removed.
If you use sample photos as kits embellishments, please fix them, otherwise, we will disable them soon.
How to distinguish them?
You can try to use the design templates, if those images got removed, and leave "green box", it means no problem.
If you get started with the design templates, and your sample photos are still over there, it means that you need to fix them.

Good morning, I'm sorry to be always causing problems, but I think I have another one. I have posted items into the template system where I allow the customer to use my photo(s) example: http://www.artscow.com/share/Iris-54-design-card-deck-purple-iris-flower-playing-cards-floral-garden-spring-h8ric8u3l2ao
Is it allowed that they do this? It's OK with me, that's why I posted them to share. If they just 'add to cart' without changing anything, then they will receive the item as I intended - with all the photo that I took and thereby they are in 'my personal album'? Thanks.

I hope I've made myself clear. I just want people to be able to add to cart if they want to use the template that has my photos already in it.
I would not list it as 'Add to cart' if I don't want them to have access to my photo for that specific template. I'm sure they can't use my photo for anything else unless I say it's OK by check marking 'add to cart' Thanks for clarifying the rules for sample photos in the client designer.

Ellan, afraid you won't have any choice on the matter any more as the following email explains: I received this from customer service this morning
Hello,
Thank you for your support. We noticed that you didn't select the Allow "Add to Cart" for a lot of the design templates you submitted in the last couple of days so we will not approve them. Thank you!

Best Regards,
Cecilia
If you don't allow add to cart your templates won't be approved, period.
I am astonished in this day and age with the problems around privacy that artscow now require template designers to allow add to cart thus allowing and encouraging any opportunist paedophile or weirdo to purchase our sample photos on products......

Cat,
I have always checked "Allow Add To Cart" for my templates, assuming you had to in order for someone to be able to use your template. It never even OCCURRED to me that some weirdo might order the design as is and use the sample photos for their own purposes. Yech. And I should have thought better, I investigate bad people for a living.
Luckily, very few of my templates have photos of my kids in them. I started to just use a white jpeg with the words "Add your own photo" instead, and I can see others have done the same.
This could help you, though it would mean redoing your templates yet again. I have noticed, however, that what few templates of mine that have been cloned (I'm not very good at this :)) more often have a real photo in it, perhaps providing a better overall design to the buyers' eyes?
Hope Artscow can fix this. If not, perhaps if all the designers just put an "add your own photo" jpeg it could sidestep the problem of weirdos and our personal photos...
Thanks for pointing this out, and I'm going to change out my kids photos from any templates I do have...

Jen, I just checked my approved templates and I have over 700 that do not have the add to cart box checked so it seems that this is yet another arbitrary rule.
I am guessing that, like share and earn this is costing ac more than they expected and they are likely to radically restrict the numbers of templates and or discontinue further ones....we shall see.
I think you are right on the templates, my best sellers all have photos, the ones without don't sell nearly as well ----------------------------------------------- See my free templates here -
