Deluxe Photo Book- faded look on cover
Reply
|
I just received my third Deluxe Book in the mail last week. I was disappointed to see that the cover pages were faded (they looked like they had been bleached by the sun). The photos in the book were vivid and I was pleased with them. I contacted Artscow to let them know I was not satisfied with this book cover (compared to my last 2 Deluxe books it was not what I expected). After sending photos to them, they said there was nothing wrong with it & that the colour of the cover was fine & that slight deviations occur with on demand printing. Just thought I would share my experience- so that others may decide whether they want to spend the extra money on a Deluxe Book or not.

Hi,
I just posted my question just like yours. I've received 2 photobooks and the pictures on the cover (front and back) are much brighter or fade (like you said) than the original pictures. It like either their printer is out of ink or they adjusted color of the pictures. The pictures inside the book are fine though. I'm quite disappointed too.

It's not just deluxe photobooks, I received a standard photobook just before Christmas with exactly the same problem with the cover pages, totally faded & looks awful, I got the same response as you, even told me that if they reprinted it it would look exactly the same. This is my 5th photobook & I've never had the problem before, but now I'm no longer willing to take the risk it will happen again. I've realised that with all the time & effort I put into creating a photobook, saving a few bucks with Artscow only to have a badly printed cover, and be told, "Once again, we can assure you that the photo book you had received is the best quality we can offer.", just isn't worth it.

I just ordered my first deluxe book Feb 2014 and my cover was also washed out. The inside looks awesome and much more vibrant than the regular book that I ordered at the same time. I didn't bother contacting ArtsCow about it, since I doubt they would fix it.
